U4GM - 5 Elden Ring Items That Reduce Spell FP Cost for Magic Builds
In Elden Ring, mastering a magic-focused build can be incredibly rewarding—but also FP-intensive. Whether you're using glintstone sorceries or powerful incantations, your ability to manage FP is crucial. Thankfully, the game includes several Elden Ring Items specifically designed to reduce spell FP consumption, making your magic build more sustainable and effective in longer battles.
Speaking from experience, I ran a pure Intelligence build on my second playthrough and quickly realized that reducing FP cost was just as important as increasing raw damage. Here are five must-have items every spellcaster should consider.
1. Cerulean Seed Talisman
This talisman increases the amount of FP restored by your Flask of Cerulean Tears. While it doesn't directly reduce spell cost, it effectively extends your casting ability by making every flask use more efficient. I started using this during the Caria Manor battles and found I could cast multiple extra spells per flask—enough to finish off tough enemies without retreating.
How to Get It: Found in Mt. Gelmir, inside a chest guarded by tough enemies near the Minor Erdtree.
2. Primal Glintstone Blade
This talisman significantly reduces spell FP cost but at the cost of your maximum HP. It’s a trade-off worth considering for glass-cannon mages or those running ranged-heavy builds. I used it during boss fights where I could stay at a distance and spam high-cost sorceries like Comet Azur without worrying too much about taking damage.
How to Get It: Located in the Mountaintops of the Giants, inside Yelough Anix Tunnel.
3. Radagon Icon
While technically not reducing FP usage, this talisman shortens spell casting time. Faster casting often means you use fewer spells overall, which helps conserve FP indirectly. This was a game-changer for my battle-mage build, especially in PvP where every second counts.
How to Get It: Found in Raya Lucaria Academy, in a chest behind a hidden wall in the Debate Parlor area.
4. Stargazer Heirloom
This talisman boosts Intelligence, which increases overall magic scaling and efficiency. When your spells hit harder, you need fewer of them to defeat enemies—again reducing overall FP drain. On my first run, I underestimated how much difference a +5 to Intelligence could make, but after equipping this, I found even low-cost spells became far more viable in regular encounters.
How to Get It: On a corpse near the cliffs in the western Mountaintops of the Giants.
5. Lusat’s Glintstone Staff (with Trade-off)
While not technically reducing FP cost—in fact, it increases it—this staff boosts the power of your sorceries so much that you may end up casting fewer spells to achieve the same effect. This item pairs well with FP management tools to balance cost and power. I used it alongside the Cerulean Seed Talisman and could dish out high bursts of damage without completely draining my FP pool.
How to Get It: Trade in Lusat’s Glintstone Crown and Remembrance of the Stars after defeating the duo boss in Sellia.
If you're fine-tuning a sorcery or incantation build and want to avoid tedious rune farming, acquiring cheap Elden Ring Items can be a practical option. It allows you to experiment freely without grinding for hours, especially if you're refining your strategy before a tough boss or heading into PvP.
Elden Ring gives magic users a toolkit that rewards planning and smart resource management. By equipping these FP-saving items, you’ll spend less time resting at Sites of Grace and more time conquering the challenges the Lands Between throws at you.
